Garage Pressure DJ’s Farj and Paul Fraser set up Aquatic Lab with the vision of running a truly global Dubstep record label from Australia. Lab001 was released in January 2008 and featured Caspa & Rusko’s ‘Bread Get Bun’ and ‘King George’ two tunes that were massive on dubplate and have gone on to sell over 2000 copies world wide - unheard of for a new label outside of London. Bread Get Bun featured on the Rinse 02 Mix CD mixed by Skream and King George has been essential play for many top Dubstep DJs. Incoming releases on Aquatic Lab include the godfather of dark break beat garage Zed Bias, Bristol heavyweight DJ Pinch and rising star Cotti.

Garage Pressure’s most recent club night - Aquarium - has hosted such heavyweights as Mala (DMZ), Skream, Benga, Kode9, Vex’d, Pinch, Caspa and Distance. In 2002, their club night DarkSyde (Dark Sydney) was the first Breakstep & Dubstep night in Australia and featured Oris Jay, Lombardo and Zed Bias.

Garage Pressure was the incubator for Australian producer Moving Ninja - now recognised for pushing the boundaries of Dubstep with his releases on seminal UK label Tectonic.

Garage Pressure Radio airs on Sydney’s Fbi94.5FM every Friday night 9-11pm; broadcasting to a conservatively estimated Sydney audience of 60,000 plus many more online. The Garagepressure.com website has been running for over 7 years and features podcasts of their latest radio shows available for download. Loaded with the freshest dubplates from artists such as Mala, Benga, Kode9, Loefah, Coki, Skream, Cotti, Caspa, Rusko, Zed Bias, Plastician, The Others, Kromestar, Search & Destroy, Pinch, 2562, Peverlist, Matty G, N-Type and many more – Garage Pressure’s live DJ sets are world class and something not to be missed!

As part of the Aquatic Lab NZ Tour Auckland-based crew Dubstep Alliance will also be representing their unique vibe honed at their fortnightly clubnight, weekly radio shows and regular international support slots. The DA is represented by DJ’s Oogun, Manaia Toa, Seeka and MC Dapht One.

Oogun relocated from London late in 2006 and has fast become one of NZ’s top Dubstep DJ/Producers as anyone who has witnessed his live DJ sets will attest. The ‘Drunk Elephant Soundsystem’ rolls with plenty of weight including fresh dubplates from Clouds, Tes La Rok, 6Blocc, DZ, Babylon System, RSD, Roommate and Antiserum as well as exclusive Oogun productions and the freshest NZ dubs.

Manaia Toa has been repping the hardcore continuum since the early 90’s, his diverse selections depict all aspects of the sound and will not disappoint the true Dubstep heads. Seeka is Auckland’s new blood, he brings the bangers to pick up the feet alongside subtler tunes to pick up the ears, fire in the mix he is definitely one to watch! Dapht One is arguably New Zealand’s top Dubstep host MC having performed alongside the likes of Benga, N-Type, Mala, Pinch and Caspa. Garage Pressure

GARAGE PRESSURE
Garage Pressure was started in January 1999 by Farj & Paul Fraser. Over the years they have DJed at some of the biggest clubs in Australia and continue to set the pace as innovators of Australia’s dance music scene. Today they are part of a dynamic new style of music that not only crosses genres but is rated by music lovers from various backgrounds - such as drum & bass, dub, broken beat, garage, house and electro. Following their musical roots - the DJ duo are today in the front line of pushing the sounds that have evolved into the term dubstep and grime.

The Garage Pressure crew has been broadcasting since 2000, with shows on stations such as Rhythm FM, Radio Dex and Groove FM. They currently hold a residency at Fbi94.5FM on Friday nights 9-11pm - broadcasting to a conservatively estimated Sydney audience of 60,000 plus many more online.

Garagepressure.com is one of the longest running sites dedicated to the dubstep scene. The site has featured dubplates and new music streams for over 6 years, many of the tracks going onto becoming best selling commercial vinyl releases. Kitted with the freshest dubplates – Garage Pressure’s live DJ sets, radio shows and podcasts always feature new music - made possible through the support of up and coming artists and labels.

AQUATIC LAB
The Aquatic Lab was established in 2006. From the onset, the founders Paul Fraser, Farj Fadaghi and Paul Jabanasam set out create a unique proposition – A quality record label managed from Australia but with a global vision from day one. Focused on the broad and emerging sound of dubstep, Aquatic Lab as the name suggests is an experimental environment for tomorrow’s big name artists.

First off the block, two of the fast rising stars of the dubstep scene - Caspa & Rusko. Signed to Aquatic Lab in mid 2007 – the duo have since gone onto produce a string of hits on Sub Soldiers and Dub Police - and arguably the biggest dubstep compilation to date Fabriclive 37. Lab001 features dance floor anthem Bread Get Bun, and uplifting roller King George. Hot property, Bread Get Bun was licensed to its first compilation CD - Rinse Vol 2– Mixed by Skream two months prior to its official release date in mid Jan 2008.

Lab002 is scheduled for April 2008 featuring Tectonic’s Pinch and Australia’s very own Moving Ninja, arguably two of the most respected dubstep producers that are quickly rising through the ranks. Pinch’s debut album Underwater Dancehall has been flying off the shelves after receiving 5/5 in Mixmag – his style likened to MJ Cole and Tipper. Combined with Moving Ninja, known for his powerful sound textures, Lab002 is a highly anticipated release. With strong support from global distributors ST Holdings, Aquatic Lab Records has a two further 12” and a CD compilation planned in 2008.
